Youth Speech Contest
Florida Farm Bureau’s statewide Youth Speech Contest has three levels of competition: County, District and State. Alachua County students who meet the criteria, below, should download and complete the form.

The form must be submitted no later than June 8, 2021 to Peggi.Justesen@ffbf.org or hand-carried or mailed to Peggi Justesen, Alachua County Farm Bureau, 16206 NW 163 Lane, Alachua, FL. 32615. The county competition will take place June 8, 2021 at the Alachua County Farm Bureau Headquarters Building, 16206 NW 163rd Lane, Alachua, FL 32615.
The winner of the County contest will compete in the District contest. The District winner then competes against the other seven District winners in the State competition, held at the Florida Farm Bureau Federation’s Annual Meeting at the Caribe RoyaleOrlandoOct. 21-Oct. 23, 2020.
This Year’s Topic: “Agriculture impacts everyone’s daily life. What are three effective ways to educate young people about agriculture?”
Rules:

Limit speech to 5 minutes +/ -30 seconds.

Must prepare and perform speech personally.

No visual aids such as PowerPoint presentations or posters permitted.

Must be a resident of Alachua County but needn’t be a Farm Bureau member.

Must be at 14 years of age and not over 18 years of age on or before September 13, 2019.
