retired after thirty years in the healthcare industry in both proprietary and not-for-profit sectors and is considered an industry expert in hospital operations, financial management, marketing, strategic planning, joint venture affiliations and healthcare industry trends. Rushing earned a B. S. in Business and Accounting from Auburn University in 1968 after which he pursued a career in public accounting, specializing in healthcare financing and administration. He has been an active agricultural produce and served on the Alachua County Farm Bureau Board since 1997.
