Myron Bryan, President,
is a native of Alachua and has lived on his family owned and operated farm all his life. He has been actively involved in the production of agriculture since the age of 13 when he began working with his father on the family farm. He began operating the family farm in 1965 following in his father’s footsteps raising cattle, hogs and growing vegetables, tobacco and corn. His first affiliation with the Alachua County Farm Bureau was as a Young Farmer and Rancher in 1965.
After 2 years as the Young Farmer & Rancher and following a long hiatus from the board, Myron came back to the board to serve as Vice President in the mid 80’s. Myron served as the Vice President until 1989 and then became the President. Myron has served as President ever since and says he will continue to serve as long as needed. In 1991 Myron was elected to the state board for the Florida Farm Bureau and remains on the board to this day.
Elected as Treasurer of the Florida Farm Bureau in 1996 and served that position for 6 years. During that time he was also appointed as Chairman to the Audit Committee. In February of 1997 he was elected to the board of the Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company and also served in that capacity for 6 years. Although, Myron is semi-retired, he is still actively involved in Ag production as a producer and processor.
